Is this not working with Chrome or just for me?

Search for %localappdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins
to fix it works for me on win 7

Hi.
I can't integrate FDM into Google Chrome Portable.
Just installed FDM 3.9.2 build 1289 but still no go.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
FDM is installed on the PC (full version not portable).
I'm on Windows 8 Pro x64

Install the latest 1289 build of FDM.

I am confuse. 3h ago Chrome was Ok and suddenly and it is in a loop just few seconds after starting it and then it crashes and asks for restart.

Googling I´ve found at Chrome forum someone with the same problem and he was advised to uninstall FDM.

Instead to uninstall FDM , I closed it and then Chrome does not show the problem anymore.

It seems that the last Chrome version broke the compatibility with FDM.

My Chrome version is 24.0.1312.52 m

Did anyone notice the same problem ?

What image do you mean? Google doesn't allow to link to images directly (token in the removed link was an unique session id, it worked only for your last session).

It appears that when the monitoring of flash video's is checked for Google Chrome in FDM that it crashes chrome every time with the symptoms above. (FDM Options / Settings / downloads / Flash Video).

Create plugins folder manually and copy there npfdm.dll from Free Download Manager folder. Report if it works, please.

If you're running Windows XP, Vista or 7, this shouldn't be an issue. Simply selecting the Application folder, FDM will automatically create the Plugins folder for you.

If you're running Windows 8 however, I just discovered that it won't work, because even if you're an administrator and UAC is set to never notify, FDM still can't create the folder, so you need to go in, create the Plugins folder, then select Google Chrome in the settings of FDM and it will put the file in there for you ;)[/quote]

Thanks but doesn't help much in downloading most files. It only catches a few downloads

For example: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds (Cannot download portable version of CCleaner in FDM, it downloads within Chrome download manager itself)

What a messy integration.

Hi guys,

I just found something which was really quite annoying, so if we could put this up for a bug fix (Even though it's not a bug with FDM, but permissions with Windows 8), that would be great.

For some reason, in Windows 8 even if you're an Administrator and you've disabled UAC (Or set it to never notify), you don't actually have full permissions to your computer.

Normally, to add the plugin to Google Chrome, you would just go into the settings of FDM, tick Google Chrome, and OK. If FDM can't find the directory, it asks you to specify it. You specify the Application folder of Google Chrome, and it will create another folder within that Application folder and call it Plugins, and put the plugin there.

The problem with Windows 8, is that FDM doesn't have permission to create the folder "Plugins". So you get the error "Can't Install Google Chrome Monitoring".

To get around this, go into the application folder and manually create a folder called Plugins. Then, when you select Google Chrome in the FDM monitoring section, it creates the file within that folder, and it all works :)

So to the developer/programmer, I assume you look at these? If you can look into whatever is required to get the program to check and ask for permissions to create that Plugins folder within the Application folder of Google Chrome, that would be awesome, then we wouldn't have to create the folder manually :)

Really stupid that we have to do this, silly Microsoft, why would you do something like that!! We all know why anyway, but yeah, it's alright, we'll fix up their mess :p

It's great and ideal in this cases:
A) For all users in this computer
b) For all multiple users on Chrome (profiles)
