Already tried it but it didn't worked: I've downloaded and installed the latest 3.9.4 build but i experienced the error both on laptop and Desktop PC... The problem was solved with 5.0 Alpha version.

Anyway I don't think it's an installer issue. It's just the new Chrome release that messed up the compatibility with FDM 3.9.4

The problems with installer seem to be already solved, so you can also download the newest FDM 3.9.4 build, uninstall the older version and try again.

It seems you may have some problems with your system, not just with FDM. Can you test FDM with Firefox?

I can't test it because I'm not at home and I only have my laptop with me (the prob was on the desktop PC at my place)

Anyway I've tried installing the 5.0 Alpha release on my laptop (with Chrome) and everything works like a charm. The problem was with 3.9.4 version installer, so I think that newer versions of Chrome needs 5.0 release...

I'll test later on the other PC and I let you know...

Hy guys.

I'm using Free Download Manager with Chrome since April 2014 and no problems... But today when I started Chrome the "Client needed" popup window came out... I re-installed the client but during the setup this problem came out:

Image

"an error occured while trying to rename a fine in the destination folder" program name is fdm_nativehost.exe or something like that

I don't know what it is, It never happened before... I think it's because of the new Chrome version that broke out the compatibility with FDM: even my FDM Extension in the Extension list of the browser disappeared and every time I install it,it asks me to install the client even if it's already installed (and running!!!)

And FDM doesn't even work with Internet Explorer.

I can't figure this out,any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have the same issue DavidGB reported. When I click on a download link, I get the fdm download window. If I press OK, everything works fine. If I press Cancel, it cancels but chrome also downloads some html file.

DavidGB said this only applies to some sites, so to make this reproducible:

1) http://it-ebooks.info/book/483/

2) Download the ebook but cancel when the fdm window pops up.

I tried download the add on mentioned here but am having some weird issued.

It works fine for the first page (right click, download all), but then when I go to the second page, and do the same, it also includes all the links from the first page... Third page does from page 1 and 2 and so on.

I am not sure if it is a bug with the Chrome Addon or with FDM.

I see there was an update to the FDM Chrome extension yesterday. What's changed? Any specific bugs fixed or new features added?

What FDM 3.9.4 build? Some builds may have broken Chrome support so it is VERY IMPORTANT to follow the reporting rules.

The first problem

When I start FDM portable offers to install Add "Free Download Manager Chrome extension," I do not want that, I refuse with Cancel, but each subsequent time again FDM offers to install the same extension in Chrome. In FDM Settings, monitoring for Chrome is not checked.

Second problem

When I exit from FDM Portable, FDM starts up the browser to the website, "We are sorry if we let you down ...".

How to solve these two problems with FDM portable ?
