Is the browser integration properly enabled within the FDM client? Please make sure that the FDM extension is activated in the browser as well.

I got it to work. The extension didn't install correctly I guess because removing it and grabbing it again worked. I think it's because I had Lite installed at the time, whereas on my second try I had the full beta version.

I'm using the Chrome extension and the latest version of FDM and browser integration doesn't work for me. I click on a link and instead of opening in FDM it just opens in the default download manager. I'm on Windows 10 64bit if that matters.

Ok, so when I chose to use download all in chrome I either get no response, or a crash in FDMs Native host messaging, that error message is generic but I have included the event viewer application log of the error.

This started sometime after the 28th of december.

I have tried uninstalling both chrome and FDM and then reinstalling, with no fix, I've also tried the light version of FDM and the new version 5.

FDM download all seems to work with IE at the moment, but I do not work well with IE <Grin>

Any ideas?

I already did the report the same day you asked me to do so ! here : viewtopic.php?p=41199#p41199

About testing FDM in new windows profile :
-On new profile with AV disabled it seems FDM is being able to save the chrome check box in options/monitoring , so I tried to do the same thing with old profile disabled AV then install FDM but the check box didn't save , the next thing I did is a complete wipe to chrome browser (delete chrome folder also ) and then reinstall FDM and now the chrome monitor check box in FDM options/monitoring is selected, saved and working as intended , now I'll see if the extension will continue to work in the long term ,I will report back and see if it was disabling the antivirus or chrome wipe did the trick ...... thanks Usher .

Sorry for lack of details :
-What FDM version? 3.9.6 build 1614
-What Chrome version? Version 44.0.2403.157 m
-Is it still the same Chrome version before and after you have lost the integration? Yes
-Is Chrome 32- or 64-bit? 32bit
-Have you installed Chrome for all users or for current user only? No not in the beginning although I'm trying with "all users" now .
-Have you run Chrome at least once before installing FDM monitoring? yes
-Have you tried to run Chrome and install FDM extension from the Chrome Web Store? No but I'm trying now with this method
-extension version 1.0.20 .
I'll post if it start working after using "chrome for all users" and "install extension from store".

..................
Just to make it clear the chrome check box doesn't save at all even if I check immediately after pressing "ok" .

EDIT: it just happened again I was downloading using fdm and closed the chrome and rerun it(chrome) and the integration is lost with a chrome restart

Could you follow the reporting rules and provide more details, please?

What FDM version? What Chrome version? Is it still the same Chrome version before and after you have lost the integration? Is Chrome 32- or 64-bit? Have you installed Chrome for all users or for current user only? Have you run Chrome at least once before installing FDM nonitoring? Have you tried to run Chrome and install FDM extension from the Chrome Web Store?

The chrome monitor check box never save and chrome lose integration after few days , I tried run as admin , reinstall both fdm and chrome , when I select the check box and then press "ok" it launch chrome browser and integration pop-up does show up , from there everything works fine but as I said after few days the chrome lose the integration , if I go back to monitoring option in fdm , the chrome check box is always unchecked even if go back to check it after successful immediately after pressing "ok" , anyone have any idea why is this happening ?

FDM 3.9.2 build 1289 is outdated (more than two years old now), it's not even the latest 3.9.2 build. If you have installed the newest Chrome version, you should also install the newest FDM build.

Usher wrote:The problems with installer seem to be already solved, so you can also download the newest FDM 3.9.4 build, uninstall the older version and try again.

Already tried it but it didn't worked: I've downloaded and installed the latest 3.9.4 build but i experienced the error both on laptop and Desktop PC... The problem was solved with 5.0 Alpha version.

Anyway I don't think it's an installer issue. It's just the new Chrome release that messed up the compatibility with FDM 3.9.4
