I simply downloaded the beta version of FDM and updated my Firefox to the latest version, and all is working just fine. Simple like that.

There have been many sacurity and stability issues with Flash Player in Internet Explorer and Firefox, there have been also issues with flash video download in FDM, so I think you should update all the software you are using: - Windows 7 - Service Pack 1 is a must. - Internet Explorer - current version for Win7SP1 is IE 9.0.9, 9.0.8112.16241, for IE 8 current version is 8.0.7601.17874/22032 (KB2722913). - Firefox - current version is 15.0.1, there are no more updates for Firefox 14.x. - Flash Player plugins for IE and for Firefox- current version is 11.4.402.265, probably all 11.3 versions are unstable or unsecure. - FDM - current version is 3.9.1 beta build 1268, FDM plugin for Firefox 1.5.7.6. Flash video downloader is an integral part of FDM installer, so you can't fix all problems with flash video using only FDM plugin updates.

Mouseover flash content freezes the Browser. |
 |
|
|
OK here is the problem. Every time the mouse cursor touches any Flash content on the page, the browser freezes for some time like 5 or 7 seconds, and i think this is related with the FDM plugin, when i turn it off things get right except that i canot download Flash videos anymore (of corse it's off). The problem is this doesn't happens on Firefox only it's going on Internet Explorer too. Its happening for some time since the firefox 13.0 came out. So since this i couldn't download Videos anymore, it happens on youtube, or any other website that uses flash content, even the ads cause this trouble, i just mouseover anithing flash and the browser freezes, and the download button doesn't apear, i tried uninstalling all and then reinstaling after passing a registry cleaner but the problem persists.
Ok programs details: FDM: 3.9 build 1249 FDM plugin: 1.5.7.4 then 1.5.7.5 Firefox: 14.0.1 Internet Explorer: 8.0.7600.16385 Antivirus: Panda Global Protection 2011 4.00 It has a firewall but all configs are clear. Windows: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Specs OS Win XP Pro SP3 CPU Intel Core2 Duo E4500 2.2ghz RAM 2gb
FDM v3.0 Build 852
Bug(s) -When using HTML Spider to download a webpage that has serveral sub-folders, if experienced a crash in the process of "adding", will not "recheck" if it missed any files, example:
+Root -aaa -+bbb --+ccc ---ddd
While "in-process of adding new downloads for HTML Spider" a crash can prevent addtional adding of links/files in bbb/ccc/ddd, usually the addings of aaa is retrived properly(all is added ok), once downloading of aaa reports complete, it moves on to 2nd link(if any located in aaa thus bbb is next) and it'll add bbb link to the completed aaa downloads, Case1: Assuming using the model above, there is more than one section of bbb connected to a single section of aaa (use a book for example, one "book /w frontcover"(2 aaa) has a "content page"(21 bbb) listing serveral pages(20 pages), and said "pages"(1 ccc) has "pictures"(1 ddd)
In a browser view would be, Root->Book-->index(listing of all pages /w thumbnails)--->page01.html---->page01.jpg If a crash happens at index while in the "process of adding", "20 html links + 20 thumbnails.jpg" FDM might not add some of the html links thus breaking the chain to reach page01.html(Previous Index Next at the top and below is the page01.jpg) which contains page01.jpg, if the crash happens at page01.html while it is adding page01.jpg to HTML Spider than it might not add page01.jpg at all.
It would be good if theres a button to "Manual re-check links" for HTML Spider to check its current completed downloaded pages if it missed any connection to the next file/picture.

The problems you have reported are not bugs, I think. 1. 1000 files is a big load even for copying or deleting small local files, if you have single-core CPU. To prevent big CPU load you should change traffic usage mode in FDM to medium or light mode before starting such a huge download. If you use antivirus software, you should change its settings - AV is probably too agressive. 2. To have FDM more responsive you should limit history and log files in FDM. For the start just clear all the history files, switch off all logging and see what will happen. No, I have a dual processor (2x2Ghz) with 2 Gb of Ram. I downloaded very small files from here (with 2 max connections): http://cap.connx.com/a-openings/ (along with the b-, c-, d- and e- folders) Also, I have a pretty slow connection (2 Megabits). I don't use an antivirus. I unchecked the "Remove downloaded files from list" option, and let the program run during the night. This morning, I checked how much total CPU time it took: 2 hours, and it downloaded 5 hours. I tried saving the history, and it took 10 minute to save a 3 MB file.
