well
here's some suggestion for the admin / moderator team...
it's hard to imagine a full-time programmer sit infront of computer..
& no income??

my suggestion for now -keep free-
even when you want to release keep it like this
Commercial user - Shareware
Home user - Donateware

as u know, some donateware hide features from commercial user, but i hardly un-recommend this, because even though it's commercial there's alwayz a cracker to do the job..
so i would rather prefer to donate money to programmer to continue their development then test an uncomplete software

The registration dialog has been removed from the v1.0 release of FDM.
The Browser User-Agent String problem has also been fixed. Thanks guys...I'll test it some more now. :D

You are almost right. FDM is an absolutely free project and it will remain free (hey, it's very hard to imagine shareware application called "Free Download Manager" <g>). But starting developing this project we basically wanted to make it shareware (under different name certainly - we even had some versions online). But now it is free and this dialogs and text in .lng files are rudiments only.

Actually we didn't think that users will get into program files so deep as Darren.

Now I see what it leads to and we will remove the dialog in next release.

That sounds great, Victor. I figured we better get this out in the open and over with. I knew the dialogs weren't activated, but I wanted to find out if they were going to stay that way. I don't mind paying for a quality application from an authors hard work, but I don't like to be mislead into thinking something's free when it's not.

No, Zero3K: I suppose Darren has used a (umm, let's call it) "developer's tool" to view the (not yet revealed) internals of FDM. The Shareware-code seems to be already built into FDM but wasn't activated yet. The program surely wasn't shareware in previous versions, because v 0.9 seems to be the first public release. anyways, interesting theory, zero3k :)

bye,
phil

Comment from administration: please, check message by Victor

The registration dialogue has already been coded into the application.
This looks like one of those "Bait and Switch" programs. We are being used as beta testers. I guess I'll reinstall FlashGet or Mass Downloader. I don't play those games. But...I could later use SoftIce & WinHex to crack it.
