The more protocols the better in any download manager free or paid. Another vote Yes, Yes, Yes. Oh, voted in an old 2011 sticky. Asperger's mistake not reading anything past the first page.

I dont remember what an MMS stream is but if its what I think it is it should be able to choose a point in the 'stream' to start the download. I know n3ttransport allows for the user to specify the start and end time of a video stream and I have used it in the past. Unfortunately n3ttransport fails when it comes to resuming/importing broken downloads. FDM also has some strange issues regarding resuming downloads but that is in a different topic.
