Hi,
I stubbled across FDM while looking for an application that support downloads to another computer. I haven't used FDM much yet, and I have read about the support to access FDM across the internet on another computer, which would partially meet my needs, however it is not quite what I was after.
I have a home server (Media Centre) that is always on, however I do most of my work from my notebook on the same network. As I find programs, videos, etc to download while browsing on my notebook, I would like from my notebook IE session to be able to select to download the link on my home server (i.e. actually running the download on the Server). This is so that:
a) I can disconnect my notebook at any time
b) The download can be queued, and then downloaded in off peak hours (see separate feature suggestion below)
c) For the case of movies, the file is downloaded straight on to my media center.
Ideally, I would invisage some sort of brower integration within IE (or Firefox) where I could select "Save Target using another computer >" which would then have a submenu of any computers I have setup (would need initial authorisation). Each target computer may then have sub options, for example to download immediately or submit to download off peak (which is a pre-setup schedule).
regards,
Adam
