Prioritize the start of a video file

Postby Spybreaka » Sat Nov 20, 2010 7:25 pm

Not sure if this has already been suggested, but frequently I find when I'm downloading video files with FDM, I'd like to start playing them before the download has finished. However, generally I catch up to the end of the first segment too quickly.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to prioritize the first 20% of a video file, which could be downloaded in segments, and then grab the rest of the file after that? This would effectively allow a reasonable sized buffer for the video file that one is downloading. That way, you could start playing the file long before it is finished.

Yes, it is already suggested (viewtopic.php?p=26412#p26412) and I am still eagerly waiting for such option. Many BitTorrent clients has it (uTorrent, BitComet, ...), but I would like to use FDM. Developer(s), please, would you be so kind to add that option.
