HI!

This version of FDM has a lot of changes. First of all it was built using the updated version of developing environment. There were made many changes in codes for this. Also it has some other additions and changes. We would like our users to test it before we could make the release version.

P.S. We apologize for this one yet beta stage and ask our user to be a bit more patient and wait until we will be able to release the final version. We plan to release it in December.

Warning! This version (3.8.1039.0) is compiled with VS2010 and can be run only with Windows XP SP1 and newer.
Firefox and Opera are still compatible with Windows 2000.

Bug:
When you check "Start Minimized" and "Load on Startup" and uncheck "Minimize to tray" FDM doesn't start minimized during startup. It does starts minimized if you close it and open it again, but doesn't start minimized on startup.

i am a little bit confused about the few versions in the few last month/weeks/days.
very long time there was nothing new (in the SVN repository)...
and now first a 3.5 version came out - but not as official download, than 3.7RC1 and 3.8 BETA are all available at the same time.

witch version will be the next stable official version of FDM ? maybe 4.0 build 9999?


anyhow FDM i my favorit...

what is the current svn repository of FDM 3.8BETA?

the following is still the one of something between 3.0 and 3.4 - not really clear.


PS.: i think it is time to change the text of the checkBox from "Internet Explorer 7.x-8.x" to "IE 7.x-9.x" under "Settings | Downloads | Monitoring | Monitor"... because FDM is working with IE 9 (isn't it?)

hello, its me again...

i have a problem with one website and/or FDM (3.0...3.8BETA) and/or browser.
a few month the website http://www.graphicall.org/ (a very important one for me) changed the style compleatly and it seems the server sorftware as well.

but since that time, i can not use FDM anymore, because of the folowing reasons:
1. is is sometimes not possible to start downloads with FDM. it will pop up the download dialog, but nothing will be downloaded - the icon of that download will turn to red.

2. if the download will start properly, it is not possible to change the page of that website in the browser anymore
e.g. first download http://graphicall.org/56 with FDM, after that try to change to page http://graphicall.org/76, the browser will be busy and get an server error after a while

i have to close FDM and IE to be able to navigate to the second page...

3. if i use the internal download procedure of the browser, every thing is okay - but i like FDM.


i don't know, what the problem is
i reported that issue to the webadmin of "graphicall" but nothing changed.
maybe you know what's wrong


my env:
2x Windows 7 64bit + IE9
Windows XP SP3 + IE8
FDM 3.0 build 852 (on both systems) & FDM 3.8BETA build 1039 (on first system)

PS.: i tried it with Firefox5 and FDM3.8Beta just now, and currently this combination works well

For BT download module, is it on the latest libtorrent ver?

It uses 0.15.6.5487 version (the latest release version).

Two different versions of FDM can't be used on the one computer. Uninstall both and install just 3.8 BETA. Then test it.

These are my two favorite improvements/fixes right here. Definitely like the second one - I always had to remember not to lock my computer when having the shutdown scheduled because it would never work. Finally a long-standing bug fixed, thanks!

Win98

You can try to use new dlls in Win98SE with KernelEx, but there may be more problems with exe files.
And a new torrent lib seems to be buggy - it uses about 30% of single core CPU and from time to time it stops random(?) torrent download without any special reason.
Libtorrent rasterbar developer does not mention about succesful compiling with VS2010 so maybe some tweaks are needed for this compiler.

OS:- Windows XP Pro SP3 x86
Web browser:- Opera "Next" 11.50 build 1067 (latest snapshot)

Torrent files opening integration with Opera works flawlessly.Much much less interface flickering now on FDM's window (what/however you guys have managed to achieve that it works!).I have Googole Chrome Dev, FF5 and (unfortunately ;p) IE8 to give those some more runs.Will report back in.

Please give some examples of problem torrents if you can.
And how many active (downloading or seeding) torrents did you have?
