If this feature added, we can save lots of bandwidth & time, because most of files in torrent or in hosting site are packed with rar rather than zip...so please kindly consider this request as useful....

And why not 7zip? It's more popular, than rar.

Because it's impossible for 7z format.

Wrong, rar is more popular, for example take attention on warez scene. :)

Actually, any site that makes use of Parity archives to provide 'fills' of any type, especially Parity Archive v2.0, would love to see people being able to download partial files. Since FDM supports resuming, as long as the server also supports resuming, there should be a way to implement saving the existing bits of a file as an incomplete file.

The parity archive system works on blocks of data, versus individual files (unless the creator did not actually pay attention when creating the parchive) so the more blocks of a partial file that you have the less parchive blocks you need to fix the broken file.

In that sense, yeah, it would be great to have this feature,.

however, parity archives can be made of any file type, not just .RAR, so asking for only .RAR files is pointless - if the core can be modified to support partial files, it should be across the board, not just for .RAR files.

The additional benefit of .RAR files is that some posters, instead of opting for parity archives, are opting for .RAR recovery files, but they are much less prevalent than the parity archive users.

So, I support this idea of partial file download, but across the board for all files.
