FDM does not recognize the existence of Comodo Dragon. I suspect it is because Dragon's executable file is named "dragon.exe" instead of "chrome.exe".

So do rename it, please, and report, if it works.

No.

"Error: Can't install Google Chrome monitoring."

The new "3.9 build 1249" seems to have fixed the problem with Dragon.

Hello everybody :)
Can anyone here tell me please how to use Free Download Manager (3.0/848) with Google Chrome, i churched on the forum and i didn't find the solution :(
I use it since 1 year and i think that it's the best download accelerator, so please help!!!
Thank's :D

Im using Google Chrome too along with FDM.. Just a suggestion.. turn off all monitoring in fdm along with the google chrome extension and just keep the dropbox open in your desktop.. The way I see it.. Google chrome is in a conspiracy with paid download managers thats why they dont fully support fdm. If you want to download something like an mp3 just drag the link to the dropbox or drag the download button from the web-screen to the drop box.. If you want to download flash video, just copy the the video url during its first loading and open fdm window, press flash video tab and press the plus button... and if you want to download torent.. just drag the .torrent file to the dropbox and it will start... Ive given up myself in trying to get Google Chrome to work automatically for fdm... :| I wish this helps...

My suggestion: Use the extension "Downloaders" from "yissyoo" which works quite well here

Latest Chromium & FDM.

Chromium loads the plugin and FDM acknowledges integration.

About:Plugins lists the NPFDM plugin as loaded, it's mime types and such.

But...

Nothing happens, ever.

There are some paths to Chrome files changed in new Chrome versions. This problem should be already fixed - just try the newest FDM 3.9.1 beta. You can find more details in older topics.

Could you please give me links to some of these topics? I have my own software policy, simply, void using beta or release candidates versions!

Can you see "Search" button at the top of the webpage?
Have you tried to search the forum?
Can you use the error message or words from my previous message as keywords?
Can you find any general installing rules?

Waiting 3.9.1 is better than looking at the crowded search results!

Hi all,

I am also troubled by FDM unable to support Google Chrome by intercepting the downloads. Thus, I search around and make some test myself. And now, I am able to allow FDM to intercept the downloads.

Information:
Operating System: Windows 7 64bit
Google Chrome: 3.0.195.33
FDM: Version 3.0 Build 848

1. Navigate to C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\.
2. Look for Plugins folder. If do not exist, create one.
3. Open FDM > Options > Settings > Monitoring > Checked Google Chrome.
4. It will prompt you "Can't locate plugins folder and asks to locate it manually.". Click OK.
5. Point to C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins\. Click OK.
6. Restart Google Chrome and FDM.

Now it should work. Good luck.

In FDM 3.9 there is no any prompt to find the plugin folder manually! It just alerts that it could not ablento install Google Chrome plugin. They said that version 3.9.1 will overcome this issue!

Hi guys,

Just an FYI for those having issues with this, the most current version of Google Chrome appears to install in the Program Files folder.

The install directory for plugins is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins (For 64 bit OS installations)
C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins (For 32 bit OS installations)

I hope this helps.

Hi guys,

Another FYI lol... Looks like there are two versions of Chrome available now, you can get one that installs for the user and one that installs for the computer, so if it's for the computer, the above details are correct, otherwise it's your user folder :)

It's great and ideal in this cases:
A) For all users in this computer
b) For all multiple users on Chrome (profiles)

Thanks
