| The DVD-AVI conversion doesn't work with subtitles or ignores when one selects to have them encoded to the AVI. It has so far crapped out and wouldn't read a good chunk of the DVD's I've tried to back up with it. The program seizes up after backing up one DVD. The program also has a tendency to create multiple folders in the designated output drive for items not being asked for. The settings don't work properly from the menu options as well. The codec 706D for windows media player is extremely hard to find, but VLC media player plays the AVIs fine from this program. Now as for how well it works when it decides to... It is fairly quick... apx 2hrs for a 2 hour movie which is better than 123 Copy DVD '09 which locks up my entire computer after 4 hrs of trying to convert DVD-AVI. I have also tried DVD Shrink 3.2 which doesn't do the AVI conversion. So far, DVD ripper 2.8.0 has been the best Rip/Conversion program for DVD-AVI that I've found so far. While not the greatest, it works. |
