Selkie Quick File Transfer (SQFT, rhymes with ?swift?) is a self-help tool for your file transfer between two computers, whether you are upgrading to a new computer or just want a fast, easy way to move most or all of your documents, photos, music, and other files to another laptop or PC. SQFT makes all the files on your computer available to any other computer on a local area network, or a laptop or computer directly by a crossover cable.
The SQFT program is an easy-to-use bootable CD. When you turn on the source computer with your Selkie Quick File Transfer CD in its CD drive, Selkie will tell you what to do. SQFT will run entirely from the CD.
SQFT can run on any computer using a Pentium or compatible processor. These include AMD processors such as the Athlon and Duron, and others such as the Cyrix series of chips.
Selkie Quick File Transfer (SQFT) turns the source computer into a file server. This means all the documents, photographs, music, and other files on this computer will be available to any other designated computer on your network or to another computer connected with a crossover cable.
To use SQFT you need a network and a CD drive that you can use to boot (start) your computer. If you do not have a network connecting the source computer and the target computer, use a crossover cable. You will need to use your keyboard keys to control the SQFT program.
