PocketLearn Viewers run on a variety of devices, including mobile phones, Pocket PCs, and Windows PCs. They are used to view HTML based PocketLearn content files that can be created using both free and commercial tools available from PocketLearn.com. Also at Pocketlearn.com is a categorized and searchable repository of Titles or content created specifically for these viewers. Users may download, rate, and add to the titles in this repository. The PocketLearn Title Development Kit or TDK is a free downloadable kit that can be used to create the content. Alternatively, a commercial tool called Flash Card Studio can be used. All are encouraged to create and submit content. Content creators decide their own compensation by assigning a license type to their work such as free, demo, trial, commercial, etc. PocketLearn Viewers utilize the flashcard paradigm, but also include a testing facility. Because PocketLearn content is HTML based, the content can contain formatted text, as well as images and audio. Versions of the viewer are available for most modern Java and MIDP phones also. The PocketLearn web site is mobile device friendly, and is optimized for browsing from devices such as mobile phones. This allows the software and content can be provisioned directly to the device.
