FileCarver is a cross-platform, powerful, easy to use program for editing binary data files that follow an arbitrary format that you specify. File formats are defined with XML definition files, that are then used to generate the GUI to edit files. This approach is superior to the traditional use of a hex-editor, where users are forced to calculate offsets and edit data by manipulating raw bytes.
