Editor review of Photo Gallery 3D Screensaver
Photo Gallery 3D Screensaver will display your digital photos in a contemporary-style 3D gallery each time you have a short break from work. The virtual camera keeps revolving around one stand with 4 canvases (however, the pictures themselves are constantly refreshed). The evaluation version lets you add only 7 photos, in the registered version the number of photos in unlimited.
The 3D graphics is really superb - the spot-lights and shadows make the pictures look so real you may want to touch them. The software also uses environmental mapping – the technique allowing to simulate the objects reflection using a texture. The lighting effects work especially nice on landscapes where they seem to imitate clouds flowing in the sky.
What definitely seems to be missing is an opportunity to change the background music, or add user’s own audio files, probably associated in some way with the photos being shown.
