Editor review of Chronos Clock
If you already have a utility performing simple reminder tasks installed on your PC, Chronos Clock is likely to be an unnecessary download for you. Moreover, the trial version of the software lacks some features mentioned in the developers' description. (Hopefully, they are present in the full version.)
To begin with, the trial version of the program fails to feature the possibility of launching multiple clocks showing different time and the Time Zone editor. That would probably seem less strange if the former option was not pointed out as a major one.
Secondly, the Auto-Hide option, that lets the clock be seen on the desktop only when you navigate the cursor on it, could also have been improved. The thing is that it takes a bit too much time to wait until the clock becomes visible on the screen.
Finally, Chronos Clock is devoid of the ability to play MP3 or WAV files in contrast to its competitors.
What comes to all other features of the software, they perform quite reliably and include the following: Calendar with Diary options, time synchronization, alarm settings and appending notes or reminders to alarms with the ability to personalize a display message. You have several alarm choices: select a track from the CD inserted in your drive, pick one of the ten sounds provided by the program or launch a user-specified application. Making spoken announcements via Chronos Clock is also available provided you have the Microsoft Agent installed on your PC.
On the whole, the simplicity of the software does not make up for a number of flaws that stand out clearly in the trial version.
