The advantage multi clipboard programs give is that they keep in memory a certain amount of things you copy or cut and let you paste any of them at any moment (while the Windows clipboard lets you paste only one last clip).
101 Clips Software runs in your system tray and records up to 25 recently copied things (don't be misled by the program name). A click on the program icon opens a chart displaying 25 recent clips. The interface is definitely no-frills, but quite usable. Pointing on a clip in the chart opens its preview (image thumbnail or text). Unfortunately, the software only displays previews of images you copied with the Print Screen option. If an image already exists on your hard disk, the preview window only shows the path to the file.
All in all, the program's most useful feature is the ability to paste copied graphics directly into the body of Outlook Express emails. This means you can make a screen capture and paste the screenshot directly into your email without saving it first and then attaching it. This is the ability that really gives the software a leg up. Moreover, 101 Clips contains a built-in graphics editor that lets you edit screenshots and other graphics (included features are cropping, resizing, adding text blocks and cliparts, etc.)
These useful options that other programs of this sort lack make the software worth a try, while some minor flaws may frustrate users. |
