Remember Numbers 1.0 is a tool designed for those who find it difficult to cope with a great amount of telephone numbers they have to deal with every day. The program is based on the observation that each figure on the buttons of a cell phone has a corresponding letter or symbol, and to memorize a meaningful letter string can be a nice alternative to doing this with a string of figures. To operate the software is extremely simple - just type into the bar the number you need to code, click the 'Generate'-button and in the left window you will get a list of all codes available for it. Then you can choose the one you will use.
However, after performing the whole procedure you encounter a major problem - which letter string to choose. If you have typed in a string of five figures, the program will give out 243 possible codes. If there are seven figures in a string, you will get up to 1,000 options. Needless to say, only a handful of them are real words, not just letter-and-symbol combinations. So, you can either spend hours searching out the meaningful strings or try to remember any of them, which is no easier than remembering the phone number.
Another downside is that the software has a good operational speed in dealing with numbers containing up to 8 symbols, whereas it is rather slow in encoding a 9-symbol string, and you get no response from the program after typing in a number of 10 symbols.
Still, Remember Numbers can be a helpful tool provided that it is improved by the developers. |
