Editor review of Family Cyber Alert
Family Cyber Alert opens all doors for its users to guide the activity of their PCs. The software can be especially useful if you would like to control your children’s work at the computer.
The program’s tabbed interface features seven main sections that correspond with the major functions of the software. The sections are the following ones: Websites Visited, Applications Used, Keystrokes, Screenshots, Files Accessed, Instant Messenger and Real-Time Watch. Most of the sections are structured likewise: they show websites/ files/ applications that have been accessed, the start time and the end time.
Some features of the software are really impressive. Here refers, for instance, the Keystrokes section, in which the software memorizes everything that a user has been typing. To view this, just choose an application that interests you and see messages, comments, texts or even passwords. The software also makes screenshots with the set interval and collects them in the Screenshots section. Thus, you can actually see what websites your children have visited, for example.
Another smart feature of the program is Real-Time watch. Here, you can block access to the websites or applications you do not want your children to work with. You can also determine the keywords that should not be typed by the children. As soon as this happens, the software is designed to send an alert message to your e-mail box. The same option can be applied to visiting the prohibited websites. However, in our tests, Family Cyber Alert failed to send alerts in the cases described above.
On the whole, being password protected, the software can serve as a safe and reliable tool for monitoring the activity of your PC when you cannot do it yourself.
