Xcalday is a very basic calendar organizer with ultimate simplicity and ease of use. It takes up almost no space on your hard drive, and can reside in your system tray or be placed anywhere on your desktop. The tiny interface displays the current month, with the current date encircled in red. It is also possible to browse to any past or future month.
Using the reminder feature could not possibly be simpler. Just select a day and input reminder text in the yellow field below; the reminder is automatically saved. Besides, all notes are saved as text files in Xcalday program folder.
What is probably missing is visual or sound reminder notification, except that the date containing a reminder appears bold. In case the calendar is hidden in the system tray, there is no way to see if you have any reminders for today. It is also impossible to input a reminder for a particular hour of the day or several individual reminders for one date. At the same time, the notes field allows placing a large amount of text.
Definitely, there are plenty of more feature rich calendar applications of the kind. But if you need no more than just this basic functionality, you may look no further than this freeware app. |
