Editor review of Arclab Thumb Studio Free
Arclab Thumb Studio comes with a number of templates for building web albums and slideshows and also offers batch processing for image resizing and watermarking.
The software possesses a user-friendly tabbed interface that leads users through a step-by-step process to build web albums.
Despite the simplicity of operation, which is definitely the program's strong point, we cannot but mention several drawbacks, which prevent the software from surpassing its rivals. To begin with, the interface is overloaded with options that don't add much value to the program. To add to that, the templates offered by the developers are too simple to compete against many original templates available in other programs of the kind. Finally, there is much inconsistency in the numeration of pages in the program's manual; one doesn't speak of the fact that Arclab Thumb Studio is a shareware product.
Overall, the application can provide enough features and convenience for unsophisticated users but is very unlikely to be picked by pros, who are well familiarized with the software market.

Software that does just what I want ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 2009-03-28 |
| I needed a software for Vista, hopefully for free that just did the conversion of the large MB sized photos my camera takes, to a smaller KB size for web use. This software does exactly that, and more. It is very easy to understand, and allows me to set exactly the size I want. It will actually let me do three different sizes of the photo at once. It also quickly allows conversion of all the photos in one folder. When the conversion is complete, it gives two choices, either to upload to a FTP or to explore the actual photos on the computer. Now I can quickly convert my photos to a smaller size and increase my number of photos at my limited online photo storage website. After searching through any number of photo indexing, red eye removal type software all I can say is Thank You, for this nice program. | |
