This basic application can be very useful for those people whose work is connected with the computer. Everybody knows how difficult it is to sit in front of the monitor for many hours: this style of life may cause a lot of health problems such as headaches, low-back pain or simply chronic tiredness.
That's why the users need any ideas how to make a pause and have a rest periodically. The developer of the Ontario Staffing Strech Timer has found an alternative solution for this problem. This easy-to-use and light-weight program will count the time to your next short break for a cup of coffee or some physical exercises. At the appointed time a short inscription will appear on your desktop to remind you that it's time to change your activity. By default the application is scheduled to start every 45 minutes as scientists believe that a pause made on this period of time is the healthiest thing you can do during your work process. But you also are able to click on the Options button and set a space of time you want.
Besides, if you don't like the standard inscription related to stretches, you can enter another one phrase into the Display folder.
The big disadvantage of this program is that the inscription is viewed in a very small unattractive window. So you even can miss it, if you are completely immersed in your work. Unfortunately the font size and its color aren't customizable too.
Finally, the interface of the program is very simple and has 3 buttons only. But due to the small window size you can place the opened application on every part of your desktop or hide it in your system tray which is convenient, especially when you work with many other programs at the same time. |
