Editor review of WikiReader
WikiReader provides a simple interface that allows users to view Wikipedia articles without the need to open the Wikipedia site. All you have to do is highlight a word or a word combination you would like to look up, wherever you come across it - be it a web page, a word document, your mail client, etc., and double-click the Ctrl+C hotkey combination (it is possible to assign a different hotkey combination). The program immediately loads a corresponding Wiki article in a compact window. Users who do not need the many links found on a Wikipedia page will find it useful that WikiReader does not load the whole Wikipedia page, but only the article itself. While the software undoubtedly makes the search process tons easier, some users may still find it more convenient to view articles in their usual environment on a web page.
Anyway, WikiReader has its own advantages that make it fun and easy to use it. If you open several articles, they are conveniently tabbed in the program window. WikiReaser also caches articles you've already viewed enabling you to view them later offline. There is also a comprehensive help file. On the whole, the software is definitely worth giving it a try, and we can recommend it to all those hooked on Wikipedia.
